How successful crowdfunding and tech innovation has enabled nationwide expansion for MFC.

Charlotte Spokes of My Friend Charlie soon to name the fourth & fifth cities in UK-wide expansion plans. This follows a vastly successful 2019; with cities one, two and three firmly established, £85,710 raised through crowdfunding, and new proprietary technology launched.

Entering into their third year, MFC’s focus for 2020 will be directed to both team and tech development. The company shows no sign of slowing down as it can report 367% revenue increase, like for like, in the first month of this year.

Team expansion continues to focus on collaboration and onboarding of industry experts, enabling the company to add value to the consumer offering, in addition to recruitment of experienced area managers and nationwide event hosts, building on an already excellent reputation in the offline singles event space.

Tech has been pivotal in supporting innovation and growth following the 2019 crowdfunding round. These two things have gone hand in hand as part of the strategy to shake up the offering in the UK dating events arena. Equally, they have undoubtedly enabled MFC to become a trailblazer in the singles events industry. The consistent development of tech enables seamless user experience alongside centralised company support and streamlining people and processes, during this UK wide expansion phase.

With a firm, customer-first mentality, events continue to impress and delight with Searcy’s joining the impressive roster of MFC venues. Searcys at the Gherkin will be joining My Friend Charlie to host a 3-course Valentines Champagne Dinner for singles on Friday 14th February 2020.

With a trusted team and innovative tech in toe, MFC will continue to shift its gaze to further expansion. As a company, My Friend Charlie is currently in London, Manchester and Bristol. The launch of the next two cities is imminent, with scope for two to three other cities across England, Scotland and Ireland this year.
