Small business champion Peter Ibbetson joins National Enterprise Network board

National Enterprise Network is delighted to announce that well known small business supporter Peter Ibbetson has joined its board.

National Enterprise Network members are crucial to England's economic growth, supporting over 144,000 individuals in the last year alone. Peter joins a number of other senior enterprise support professionals, to drive future strategy for the unique membership body that represents the enterprise support sector across England.

Peter Ibbetson is an established non-executive director, backed by thirty years financial services experience and a successful track record in areas including strategic management, marketing and PR.

Speaking of his new role at National Enterprise Network, Peter Ibbetson said:

“I have championed the work of National Enterprise Network and its membership for many years; the part they play in the support of small businesses is hugely valuable. Contributing to the future direction of the organisation at Board level is very exciting and I look forward to helping set a strategic position for the organisation’s long term growth.”

Peter Ibbetson’s commitment to small business is demonstrated by the number of non-executive directorships he holds. As well as acting as Chairman of Small Businesses for NatWest and RBS since 2008, he is also non-executive Chairman of the Lenlyn Group and a non-executive Director of The Start Up Loan Company. Additionally he is a Director of Primedia Solutions, a bespoke media coaching company and a Director of Journolink Limited; an online platform which provides small businesses with affordable PR in a box and journalists with a matching service to small businesses keen to talk in the media.

Speaking of Peter’s recruitment, National Enterprise Network Chairman Chris Pichon said:

“We are delighted that Peter has accepted our invitation to be part of the Network’s Board. We have defined a number of core priorities to drive our future direction and Peter’s addition to the Board will really support our plans – with his wealth of business knowledge and an enthusiastic understanding of the sector we operate in.”

Peter Ibbetson was officially approved as a Board Director in a September 2015 meeting. He will join fellow Board members in the next meeting in November, followed by joining the wider membership at the Network’s AGM later that month.
