Teacher and Singer Inspired to Write Superhero Book to Help Children Cope with The COVID-19 Pandemic

What is happening in the world? Schools are closed! Play dates are banned! Mum says she can't return to work! Everyone is worried about a strange new disease that is turning the world upside down.

Author and singer Natori Blue answers these questions whilst delivering a message of hope, in her new release children’s picture book - Calib and Quaran-Teen.

“Calib and Quaran-Teen,” is an attractive picture book, that embarks the reader upon a journey of uncertainty to reassurance; by exploring the global impact of the coronavirus pandemic, and how it may challenge children and their mental health.

A rhythmic tale of Calib and unassuming superheroes, Quaran-Teen appears as a teenage super villain, who has stamped the breaks on everything that young Calib has considered “normal”. Someone must do something about it!

“Calib and Quaran-Teen” is a modern treasure for children and adults alike. Author and teacher Blue was inspired to write this story to impact the current child-focused literature around COVID-19 and to help her own children cope with the new normal.

She states “My children wanted to know what was happening in their worlds, and this was a fun and engaging way to explain it to them.”

As a teacher Blue has seen such books capture children’s hearts as their silly and intriguing characters carry out truly relevant themes, fostering the perfect little epiphany moments for young readers (and old ones).

“Calib and Quaran-Teen” is a poetic picture book complete at 32 pages: Further information can be found https://youtu.be/SXDi_H-zULI
