Auto apprenticeships are the way forward, says Nitro Autos

Nitro Autos - Bedford's go to garage for MOTs, car maintenance, repairs, breakdown recovery and car safety is underlining the importance of apprenticeships in the auto industry, following last week’s National Apprenticeship Week.

National Apprenticeship Week took place from 4th to 8th March, with a series of events and promotional activities that highlighted both the benefits of taking on apprentices for businesses, and the career path which apprenticeship schemes can offer young people.

Nitro Autos is fully behind the scheme and recognises that young people are crucial for safeguarding the future of the sector. According to the Automotive Apprenticeships Matching Service, as many as 50,000 jobs in the automotive industry will need to be replaced by the year 2020, making it critical that those entering the industry gain the necessary experience.

Michael Barone, owner of Nitro Autos, said: "It is vital that we have a way of converting enthusiasm for cars into skills which can enable apprentices to become the mechanics of tomorrow."

During National Apprenticeship Week in 2018 there were over 780 events nationwide. Over 10,000 talks were conducted, many of them in schools, as the government focused on illustrating the career gateway which apprenticeships can provide to young people.
