Nouveau Care supports Mental Health Awareness Week

Domiciliary and home care providers Nouveau Care Ltd have announced their support for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, which started on Monday, 13 May, and is running until Sunday, 19 May.

The campaign, which is run by the Mental Health Foundation, aims to raise awareness about a range of issues that affect mental health such as loneliness, relationships, stress, friendships, and alcohol. It ultimately aims to drive conversations about mental health problems and tackle attendant stigmas that often discourage people from seeking the help they need.

Nouveau Care is deeply invested in the campaign as mental health is a vital topic within the world of social, personal and palliative care. Indeed, live-in and domiciliary care services are holistic in the sense that they include helping service users maintain their independence, dignity and overall sense of wellbeing, as well as attending to their physical needs.

Thomas Smith, the owner of Nouveau Care Ltd, explained: “As an organisation, we are deeply committed to championing the aims of Mental Health Awareness Week. Many of our service users face issues surrounding loneliness, depression and sometimes guilt about the perceived burden they pose to their families.

“It is in this way that we are passionate about providing a care service that reminds users of their self-worth and the importance of looking after their mental wellbeing. On top of this, we understand that providing quality care that allows users to go about their daily lives as freely as possible is fundamental to nurturing a good standard of mental health in our clients.”

By opening up the conversation surrounding mental health, Nouveau Care Ltd hopes to encourage a culture of openness that supports its holistic and empathetic approach to home care.
