Counselling Therapy Won’t Become another Victim of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

How one counselling business successfully moved their clients face-to-face therapy online in just a few weeks!

Counselling Services Ltd launched a new online counselling service for individual and relationship counselling therapy today.

‘Online Counselling Today’ is designed for those who need to access counselling therapy remotely using video, instead of face-to-face.

With the slogan ‘Counselling Therapy Wherever You Are,’ the message is clear, COVID-19 will not stop the counselling profession delivering therapy to those that need it and can move online.

People can access the service via a secure website at https://onlinecounselling.today and schedule an online counselling session or contact a counsellor directly, to find out more.

Spokesperson, Tracy Simpson, said,

“There is an increasing demand for counselling therapy over the phone and online, and, with the COVID-19 Pandemic, many people can only access a counselling service remotely while ever Lockdown continues.”

Tracy, an experienced, qualified counsellor registered with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), specialises in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and works extensively with victims of rape and gambling addiction. Tracy’s counselling practice in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, is temporarily closed to face-to-face counselling visitors, as she had to stop seeing clients in person as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic, and the subsequent Lockdown. Tracy is now working from home until Lockdown finishes.

Tracy, from her counselling room at home, continued,

“Fortunately, I counsel some clients, as well as providing supervision for other counsellors over the telephone, so I’m used to working remotely. Now I’m using other means of contact, such as WhatsApp, Zoom, Skype and FaceTime! I’m amazed at how people of all ages give online counselling a try.

Tracy is not alone. Many businesses offering counselling or mental health therapy are working remotely at home, as are much of the UK population. When it all ends, there is likely to be an increased demand for counselling as people return to work with anxiety and depression, many of whom may be mourning the loss of a loved one or suffering from the stress and shock of the worldwide COVID-19 Pandemic.

On a final note, Tracy said,

“The Coronavirus has really hit us all for six, but despite the pressures and premature bereavements, we will survive, adapt and come back even stronger. After an initial video call, clients soon settle into counselling therapy using a computer or smartphone, and if it appears a little technical, there are usually children or grandchildren to show them how!”
