Looking for somewhere to take the parents, which the kids will also enjoyover the bank holiday weekend?
This weekend the Oxford Bus Museum will be open on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday between 10.30am and 4.30pm. Parents will enjoy reminiscing about their childhood and the buses (and cars) they rode in on the way to school, whilst there is a special area with activities for children and a quiz on road signs for you!
On Bank Holiday Monday we shall be running a free hourly vintage bus service to Oxford Parkway Railway Station at Watereaton leaving the museum at 11.30am, 12.30 pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm and returning at noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. There are 30 buses on display together with 20 Morris cars and a collection of 40 historic bicycles including penny farthings and a Tandem for two where you sit side by side. ( Tip take the seat on the right which has the only brake!) there are photographs from the past, old ticket machines, uniforms and other memorabilia.
The museum is located next to Hanborough Railway Station on the Cotswold Line and offers free car parking. There is a shop, cafe and the usual facilities. Entrance is only £5 for adults, £4 for over 60s and £3 for 5-16 year olds. There is also a family ticket.
