Paysend hits 2.5 million customers following Covid market acceleration

• Global money transfer beating expectations by reaching 2.5 million customers ahead of plan

• Company growing by over 5,000 customers per day helping connections through pandemic

UK-based FinTech company Paysend yesterday announced that it has reached the 2.5 million customer mark for its Global Transfers service. Having been founded in April 2017, Paysend has raced to the milestone in just three and a half years, and the company’s growth rate is continuing to increase - the 1.5 million customer mark was only reached in March, meaning that 1 million new customers have been welcomed during the global pandemic.

Paysend customers can now send money to more than 90 countries using their smartphone app or web browser platform, and new countries are added every month. The geographic footprint has grown strongly with, between others, a number of African countries, Canada and USA recently launched.

On top of this, Paysend’s existing corridors have seen huge growth throughout 2020 in terms of customer acquisition, particularly in large money transfer markets like China, Korea, Ghana, UAE, the Philippines and Poland. The growth of existing money transfer corridors has been critical to support the expansion of Paysend’s geographic footprint and movement towards a truly global coverage.

“Paysend has become a leading end-to-end global payment ecosystem, and now one of the foremost service providers in many transfer markets globally,” Ronnie Millar, CEO of Paysend said. “We combine excellent technology, global partners like Alipay and Mastercard, and excellent customer service to ensure that we keep our customer connected with their loved ones, despite what challenges the world throws at them.”

Digital money transfers have been thrust further into the spotlight this year given travel restrictions and limited access to financial services, and Paysend has helped to alleviate these problems for their customers. Over 14,000 reviews have now been left on Paysend’s Trustpilot page, with 89% of reviewers leaving a 5-star ‘excellent’ score.

“We’d like to thank every one of our customers and we hope that you’ll continue to use Paysend to stay connected with your loved ones around the world,” Mr Millar added. “We promise to keep improving Paysend for each member of our growing community. This is just another milestone in our mission to create money for the future."
