Welsh business “Pension the Pennies” in line for National award for disrupting the pension market.

Pensions app, Pension the Pennies based in Cardiff, has been shortlisted from a long list of nominations for “Disruptor of the year” in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. This success comes on the back of a successful investment round and doubling their team during lockdown.

Founded in 2013, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards acknowledges the hard work and inspiring stories of entrepreneurs and businesses in the United Kingdom.

The Awards have celebrated some outstanding entrepreneurs who have gone on to become household names. Previous winners include the founders of BrewDog, The LAD Bible, Clearscore & The Cambridge Satchel Company.

Judges of the awards include Hayley Parsons, who founded Go Compare, Cath Kidston, Lord Bilimoria of Cobra Beer and Kanya King, the founder of the MOBO awards.

This year, with face to face events challenging, the regional heats will be celebrated online on September 23rd.

Pension the Pennies is a revolutionary pension app, which allows users to round up their spare change from each card transaction into a private pension. Enabling users to get cashback from shopping online straight into the user’s pension and collate old pensions into the app for free.

Founder and CEO Neil Abraham says “Winning such a prestigious award and following in the footsteps of companies with inspirational growth stories would mean so much to myself and the whole Pension the Pennies team, especially in such trying times. We are working hard to make pensions accessible to everyone and this cements our belief in what we are building”
