Spring cleaning takes on a new importance for Poppies

Spring cleaning has taken on a new importance this year. With millions of households across the UK more concerned about high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and their health than ever before, Poppies’ franchise announces a surge in client bookings.

“This year spring cleaning is simply more than just a quick clean and declutter of your space,” said, Chris Wootton, Managing Director of domestic cleaning franchise Poppies. “As a result of the pandemic, many people have increased their sanitisation and cleaning regimes. Spending more time indoors, people realise that a clean home can boost immunity, as well as reduce both stress and anxiety – something many have suffered from over the past year.

“We’ve seen that COVID-19 has triggered a growth boom in cleaning across the UK, resulting in more people seeking outside help to ensure their free time is not taken over by chores. There’s still a high percentage of adults (60%*) who are balancing working from home and childcare, and until recently distance learning, so the demand for professional cleaners to provide a fully managed cleaning service is rising once again. We’ve certainly seen this reflected in the demand on our network of franchisees across the UK. It’s great to see them recognised for our high standards for hygiene and trusted teams.”

Poppies, the first domestic cleaning franchise which launched over 40 years ago, is fully prepared to guide its network of 22 management franchisees during these unprecedented times. The brand implemented a two-step cleaning programme in response to COVID-19 last year and this has now been added into its spring clean process. The enhanced method of cleaning and sanitising to protect home occupants from germs and cross infection will now be a permanent part of the service they offer to clients, whether that be a one-off deep clean or a regular domestic clean.

Chris added, “Many people might not have completed their spring clean last year, as we had just entered the first national lockdown, so there is now more of a need and motivation to get that deep clean completed... ready for the time when we can welcome friends and extended family back into our homes. Spring cleaning signifies a fresh start and I’m delighted that Poppies is leading the charge as we share positivity on a national level.”
