Purity First marks International Women's Day
Purity First has announced that it is proud to be marking International Women’s Day, an annual event which celebrates women around the world and their achievements. In the wake of the #MeToo movement, Friday 8th March takes on even more significance in 2019, focusing attention on the treatment of women and how successful many are in a world which is still largely male-dominated.
As a high-quality domestic and commercial cleaning company, Purity First employs a lot of women and its owner, Adriana Ramadan, has been widely recognised for her entrepreneurial skills.
Discussing the significance of International Women’s Day, Mrs Ramadan says: “International Women’s Day has always meant a lot to me, but this year it seems all the more important that we mark it and celebrate the great work that women the world over do.
“Female entrepreneurs rarely seem to get the same levels of praise or attention as their male counterparts, but that is slowly beginning to change. I count myself as an entrepreneur.
Purity First was created in 2016 when our previous company closed and our team lost their jobs overnight. Since we worked well together and didn’t want to go down without a fight, we transferred our skills, passion and knowledge into this new company.
As its owner, I am immensely proud of the work our female and male staff do – we’re all the same, and we deserve equal recognition for our successes.”
The first International Women’s Day was marked in 1911. This year the theme is #BalanceForBetter, encouraging more gender balance in all aspects of life, including in the boardroom, in governments and in media coverage, wealth and employment. People are being encouraged to strike the #BalanceForBetter pose and share their pictures, to motivate and encourage others to take part.
