Scanning Pens Becomes a Google for Education Build Partner

Big news for Scanning Pens over these past few weeks. We’ve officially become a Google for Education Build Partner; a huge recognition of the hard work Scanning Pens has done to make our assistive technology accessible to all.

The CEO of Scanning Pens, Jack Churchill, had this to say about the exciting news:

“Being a Google for Education Build Partner means Scanning Pens will be working alongside Google for Education to broaden the support we can give our customers, and develop ways to integrate their technology with ours while we find further solutions for our users. We’re hoping, with the help of Google for Education, we can further expand the assistance we provide dyslexics and readers worldwide.”

The instant compatibility of the ReaderPen with Google products is one of the many reasons Scanning Pens has become a Google for Education Build Partner.

The main feature of the ReaderPen is being able to scan text and have it read aloud or via earbuds in a clear accent. There are plenty of other benefits to the pen, some of which are highlighted when used with Google’s products. One of these features is the ability to store scanned text and audio recordings to later review. Any user can upload data to their device to review or import into a text document.

But we’ve simplified this feature even more. A user of the ReaderPen can plug their scanner into their device and scan text straight into a text document. Pair this feature with Google Docs to make sharing scanned text even easier. There’s no software to download. No set-up period. Our customers can simply just plug and play. When used alongside the built-in dictionary, the ReaderPen can be an ideal tool for learning readers and English language learners.

Although our technology was originally created as extra support for struggling readers, the ReaderPen’s user-friendly design has allowed it to fit in with more mainstream learning tools. We’re now working towards more Google integration across our other products for the convenience of our customers.
