School for CEOs scoops top training award

LONDON, November 2015 – School for CEOs has been awarded Best Learning & Development Supplier by the prestigious Training Journal at an event in London. The industry training and learning publication staged its 2015 awards ceremony to honour innovative entrepreneurship in the sector and is this year celebrating its 50th year in business.

Making business news with the accolade, School for CEOs was established in 2011 to provide businesspeople with enhanced skills using coaching and mentoring. It was nominated for the award by Coats Group plc, the world’s leading industrial thread and consumer textile crafts business. Both organisations have been working together since the school was established and have created a range of development practices for Coats’ top executives, both in-house and at the school itself.

In addition to coaching and mentoring, the school runs one- and two-day training programmes in London and next year is due to expand them to Edinburgh, Scotland. A number of prominent business leaders and business experts were chosen by the school to form a Faculty that shares knowledge and expertise with people taking part in the programmes.

Andy Speak, Chief HR Officer at Coats, said School for CEOs has helped to nurture the top executives at his company. “Our partnership with School for CEOs has broadened our leaders’ perspectives, developing their self-awareness and management behaviours,” he said.

For the judges, "School for CEOs was the outstanding candidate in this year’s entries. The offering was unique and their credibility was evident. They were able to demonstrate direct impact of their interventions and this impact was significant to both the board and the business at Coats."

Meanwhile, Patrick Macdonald, Co-Founder of School for CEOs, said he was thrilled that the school had been recognised by its peers and that they couldn’t have done it without Coats. “Our relationship with Coats is very important to us. We are delighted that we are able to support their organisation, and are very flattered to receive this award for the work we have done together.”
