SAVILE ROW Trained Female Tailor Launches International Women's Day Campaign

For Immediate Release

This International Women’s Week Alicya Sinclair, the founder of Sinclair London, is launching an inspirational video series titled ‘Trailblazer Talks’. Trailblazer Talks will seek to celebrate the hidden icons, women who trail-blaze the paths for other women to follow and women who are the first of their kind. Officially a UN Women, WEP Member and a trailblazer herself, it is important for Alicya to shed light on some of the modern female leaders that open the road for other aspiring women to reach their development goals.

Trained by Princess Diana’s tailor, Alicya is hailed the next Giorgio Armani by former Burberry and former Harvey Nichols CEO Stacey Cartwright: Sinclair was the first to enter the women’s only tailoring market in 2013 and is the only female Savile Row trained tailor amongst her competitors.

An award-winning designer with creations appearing on the red carpet the brand acted as an agent for change. In 2017, Sinclair designed tailored trouser suits for The Tootsie Rollers, who are annual performers to the Queen at Royal Ascot. The following year for the first time, suits were an acceptable attire for women in the Royal Enclosure. Sinclair London’s elevated brand projects include crafting costumes for some of the world’s biggest feature films from Mission Impossible to The Dig & Jingle Jangle.

This International Women’s Week, Alicya felt inspired to showcase other women who similarly to herself were blazing a path in what are often very male dominated spaces.

“The idea span from a conversation with my mother on Gender Equality and the 2021 theme for International Women’s Day. It just seems like the perfect moment to raise awareness on a topic so important right now across the board. No matter what industry, corporate, creative or tech, this is a conversation that can be had with everyone.”

International Women’s Week is to be celebrated between 7th – 14th of March, connecting the International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, with some of the most influential business women across the globe. These include Women’s President Organisation UK Chair, Karen Tracey, The Women’s Chapter, Michelle De Klerk, Beyonce nude lingerie designer, Ade Hassan, founder of Nubian Skin and Timmy Kader co-founder of one of the largest Asian Wedding providers 1SW and the first female founders of the Asian Wedding Association. The talks will bring women together from all networks aiming to include insight into their success stories, conversations about the work issues concerning career, as well as sharing style tips for the ultimate professional look.

“Trailblazer Talks” shine light on the female pioneers of their industries, marking Sinclair London’s dedication to inspiring and mentoring women in their career journeys. The brand also reflects on the past by celebrating Lady Savile, which London’s famous street of tailoring, Savile Row, was named after by the street owner and husband Lord Burlington amongst and other female icons.

Other elevated brand projects includes a partnership with London Tea Exchange, a leading international retailer of the most finest and most rarest teas of the world. The idea is to highlight the history and importance roles women play in the creation of teas as well as a series of Extraordinary Experiences. Experiences include the Royal Tea Ceremonies, which uncovers the veil behind the secrets of what teas are being poured in palaces of royal families around the world. The event also touches on the subject of tea ceremonies and their sacred meaning in some of the world cultures.
