Project Manager who abandoned Corporate Life for Freelancing wins National Award

Abandoning her project management position after 10 years in the corporate world, with major names like Hogarth and Freedman International, to join the army of freelancers building their careers independently, Sarah Morton celebrated her five year’s of self employment by picking up the award for Project Management at the YunoJuno Sweet FA awards for freelancers in London (22 November).

The awards which have become recognised as the Oscars of the freelancing world announced winners in 18 categories, from nearly 1,000 nominations, at the ‘come dressed for the occasion’ event in London’s fashionable Shoreditch.

Sporting her multi coloured wig, Sarah said, “It took me 10 years to realise that the corporate world, with its politics and hierarchies was not for me. The freedom to choose who I work with is what now inspires me, and YunoJuno enables me to do exactly that, looking after the administrative headaches of being freelance and leaving me simply to get on with what I am good at. It was a leap of faith five years ago to give up my permanent role and move into freelance, so I am delighted that I have been recognised."

Adding his congratulations, Shib Mathew, founder of YunoJuno said, “Sarah thoroughly deservers the Project Management Award. She shone through out of the many nominations as thoroughly experienced and committed to her discipline, and always in demand from clients.”
