Snap-on’s new Jump Start package set to make a splash!
If there’s one thing Snap-on knows how to do, it’s turn heads. Autumn 2019 is set to go down in history for the world-famous tool brand as it launches a new business opportunity, allowing for budding entrepreneurs to start their own Snap-on business – and it’s open to the entire country.
The aptly named ‘Jump Start’ package will enable prospects from all walks of life – and of all ages – to join the tool giant for less than half of the original start-up costs. Coupled with an enhanced training and support programme, the low-cost, high value business option is expected to meet growing demand amongst millennials and first-time entrepreneurs alike.
“We ran a special limited-time promotion in 2018 where we lowered the start-up fee for certain areas of the UK,” explains National Franchise Manager, Lisa Law. “The uptake of that offer was overwhelming, and we received an influx of enquiries from people who had all the makings of great Snap-on men – and women! – but who, until that point, just hadn’t been able to raise the required start-up funds. Many of those who joined us through the 2018 promotion have gone on to be top performing sales people in their first year.
“We realised that there’s a real hunger for the autonomy of business ownership, particularly in millennials, but that financial barriers were preventing them from progressing. We’ve spent the last six months working out how to bring this opportunity back to the market in a way which means every single person can potentially benefit, no matter where they are in the country. I’m incredibly proud that we’ve made this a reality.”
The package is available across the UK, and the only condition applied to the new offering is that new recruits must be able to train and be out on the road by 30th March 2020. Following its unveiling on social media and the brand’s own website, Jump Start received over 35 enquires in 11 days – proof, says Law, were it needed, of the excitement and popularity surrounding the launch.
“I’d been a Snap-on customer for years and had always been interested in the starting up with my own van, but it was the promotional price that encouraged me to finally decide to just go for it,” says Alex McNellan, who launched his business during the 2018 promotion. “I think it’s an incredible opportunity for people like me, who might be on the fence about investing in their own business. It’s also a chance for younger people, or those without the necessary savings, to achieve their dream of being their own boss. For me, personally, it enticed me to pick up the phone. I know that the investment would have still be worth it, but I feel really lucky to have been in the right place at the right time, so that I could take advantage of the offer.”
