Mobility company provides 700 Christmas gifts for care workers who cared for the nation in 2020

Being a carer is not easy at the best of times, but 2020 has definitely pushed this to the max. Throughout the pandemic, carers have been doing invaluable work, selflessly taking care of people who are housebound or shielding. While their efforts have been recognised thanks to the popularity of Clap for Carers during the first lockdown, there is still more that can be done. Now, in a true feel-good story, one company has found a unique way to say thanks.

Snowdrop Independent Living is proud to announce that it will be distributing 700 gift bags to carers working over the Christmas period. As a retailer of mobility aids, Snowdrop knows better than anyone the sacrifices that carers make every day.

Phil Batchelor who owns a care agency franchise Home Instead in Cardiff commented:

"Being a caregiver is a very rewarding but challenging job. I know our clients and their families are extremely grateful for what they do. It’s great to see caregivers being appreciated by other businesses like Snowdrop!" "

Snowdrop Marketing Manager Sophia Wu explains why the company is keen to show its appreciation for carers:

“I worked as a carer myself before joining Snowdrop as Marketing Manager. I think all the carers who provided care this year deserve more recognition than ever!"

It’s been a difficult year for everyone, but those working in social care deserve special praise. Care workers are the unsung heroes of the pandemic and, with this small reward, Snowdrop hopes to thank them for all their hard work.

The gift bags are designed to make life easier for carers who cannot take a break over Christmas. They consist of an “Anywhere Tea Break Kit” containing a travel mug, sachets of tea and coffee, biscuits, a trolley token, and a number of other items to help carers take a break on the go. Any care worker can request a gift bag by emailing Snowdrop or in branches. Snowdrop branches can be found in Haverfordwest, Swansea, Penarth, Cardiff, Wolverhampton, Brierly Hill and Hall Green.
