Shoreditch Pioneers, supporting Hackney Night Shelter
Russell & Dawn Chopp and Tony Hutching's, founders of Shoreditch Pioneers, shared a common bond, both are Pioneers of the Shoreditch renaissance and both are passionate about helping to eradicate another pandemic, homelessness. Tony, who worked in Shoreditch for over 17 years, and Russell & Dawn 24 years were inspired by the people, their journeys, lives, and those who helped to mould and shape Shoreditch in to the location synonymous for creativity and cultural diversity. Tony Hutchings portrait exhibition project was initially scheduled for 2020 and when the world went on pause they started thinking, rather than doing a one of show, how about launching a platform that will continually bring about greater awareness and fundraising initiatives to help support Hackney Night Shelter, the charity they had selected to support. By including the 150 + pioneers Tony had shot over the last five years, we recognised that if we all collaborated we could create some wonderful projects to support the night shelter. The Pioneers will be running a series of podcasts, events and initiatives and kicking off the first initiative is Space Station estate agents with their Homesales Changing Lives campaign. Russell Chopp of Space Station said, "After visiting the shelter and seeing first hand the committed and selfless work of the volunteers, we wanted to be able to try and make an impactful tangible difference. Know body in the 21 st century should be homeless and we share Hackney Night Shelters' vision to help find routes out of homelessness for everyone!
