Stirling Gin Festival Back for 2021!

The Stirling Gin Festival has been confirmed for 2021 and will be back at the Golden Lion Hotel, Stirling on Saturday 6th November.

Now in its 8th year, the annual event will be back bigger and better with over 100 gins available for tasting. Always a sell-out event, the festival is run by the Stirling Spirit Co. with Fever-Tree as key sponsor. The festival offers guests an immersive gin experience, perfect for gin lovers new and old.

Gin enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet the makers of over 25 gin brands, purchasing directly from them, with lots of special offers available on the day. Some of the brands attending the event are: Downpour, Lussa, Devils Staircase, Stirling Gin, Pentlands Hill, Biggar Gin, Dundee, Ogilvy Vodka, Avva, Kilty, new kid on the block Kyns gin, Colonsay, Ellis and Pilgrims, with NSD as an event sponsor. A new addition to the event this year will be Tyree Gin, handcrafted in the Isle of Tiree, one of the Inner Hebrides islands. Their gin reflects the landscape in which it is distilled. Kelp harvested from the icy waters provides sweetness as well as coastal salty flavours and floral, grassy and vanilla notes are achieved using a range of botanicals from the machair ground inland from the shore. Combined with juniper, water-mint and angelica, this is a fresh, pure island spirit.

Alistair Wilson, Managing Director of Isle of Skye Distillery who will bring Misty Isle gin to this year’s event said “We exhibit at many Gin Festivals throughout Scotland, however Stirling Gin Festival is one of the best for sales and a bit of fun! June and Cameron really know how to put on a great weekend for all.”.

Stirling Gin’s head distiller will be at the event to talk guests through the distilling process of their gin, and cocktail making sessions where guests get their own copa glass, will be run throughout the day. Easily accessible by public transport in the centre of Stirling, the hotel will provide a range of Scottish finger food for guests.

There will be two sessions over the day to choose from. The first session runs from 12:45 – 16:15 with the second running between 17:00 – 20:00. Tickets are £25 and include a branded drinking vessel, Fever-tree Tonic water and mixers from our festival sponsor as well as a festival brochure with on the day special deals on bottle sales. Event organiser June McCann spoke of the event; “We’re so pleased to host the festival in Stirling again this November. It’s a great opportunity for Scottish gin brands to promote their products and encourage visitors to explore local Stirling businesses as they descend on our beautiful, historic city”. It is estimated that the last gin festival brought around 200k to the local economy. Check out the Your Stirling website with local tips and places to visit.

About Stirling Distillery

Stirling Distillery We wanted to bring something unique to the ever growing world of Scottish Gin. In our recipe we feel we have achieved that goal. The result is a spirit with a big nose and very satisfying profile, whether neat or with a premium tonic of your choice. Our core gin is infused with hand picked Stirlingshire nettles, basil, lemon and orange peel, juniper and angelica root. This forms the base to our other products, all distilled at Stirling Distillery. As a result, our nearly navy strength Battle Strength Gin packs a mighty punch, while the Folklore Collection uses local fruits and herbs to create our range of gin liqueurs. Our entire range is inspired by the mythologies and history surrounding Stirlingshire and its beautiful castle. In 2019 we opened our doors at the foot of Stirling Castle. We are the first gin distillery in the beautiful city of Stirling and are proud to use local ingredients to create our outstanding Scottish spirits.
