Tap into a further potential £100m of charitable donations with the TAAP Fundraiser app
At an Institute of Fundraising (IOF) event Barclaycard claimed that Charities are missing out on an estimated £80m per annum in Contactless payment donations. These donations if they comply to HMRC regulations and donated against the GiftAid scheme could increase by 25%, providing in total a potential further £100m of charitable donations to support good causes.
TAAP LTD in response to this potential has released an app to allow organisations to collect donations using Contactless Payments or Cash, and with the ability to GiftAid the donation increasing each effective amount by an additional 25%. The app in addition to collecting donations is also able to build an opt-in GDPR compliant donor database.
TAAP’s CEO Steve Higgon said “we had been working with the Institute of Fundraising and promoting our Regular Giving app when a very clear and obvious gap in the market was identified. We started work on the new F2F Fundraiser app July 2018 and shaped the solution based upon feedback from prospective clients. We finalised the build/function and commercials December 2018. The objectives were to make it a compelling solution, great price point, very easy to use, and easy to purchase for organisations of any size”
TAAP developed the app to address the shift to contactless payments allowing payment by credit/debit card, cash or phone with Apple and Google Pay. The app allows the donor to choose the amount and make the donation, it takes seconds to collect a donation.
The solution uniquely then allows the donor to treat the donation as a GiftAid donation. All they need do is provide their name and address details. The solution given a postcode allows the user to choose from a list of addresses. The whole process is fast, quick and efficient.
If the donor is in a hurry, but still wants to make it a GiftAid donation, they can provide their mobile phone number and receive a text message. The message contains a hyperlink to a website they can open which allows them to update their details in their own time. The TAAP solution is designed to make it easy for anyone to donate, and with minimal impact/delay to their busy day.
The solution allows the donor to opt in to receive news and information from the charity, building a channel through which the charity can communicate with the donor. There is also scope in the future to email and allow the donor to re-donate again using digital wallets, Apple and Google Pay.
It’s been designed to use out of the box to immediately start collecting donations. The scope and breath of the product allows it to be used for many different fundraising activities, Street F2F Fundraising, Schools Donations/Open Days, Hospitals, Hospices, Churches, Gala/Evening Events and so on.
The app from a governance perspective records cash donations and simplifies the reconciliation process, helping to reduce fraud and saving time for fundraising managers and administrators.
TAAP’s Operations Manager Aimee Verploegh said “the app helps demonstrate to the public that charities can use technologies to help streamline and reduce costs meaning the donations can be more effectively used where the monies are really needed”
The whole solution is available from £37.50+VAT per month. This provides the Phone, Card Reader, Data Contract, TAAP Software, System Setup, 1st Line Support, and Portal Access to download the donor details. Contract length is 24 months, 12 months and even a 3 month trial is possible.
TAAP’s CEO said “We are very pleased to deliver such a simple and effective solution allowing charities to streamline the process of collecting donations, GiftAid them where permitted, create a GDPR opt-in compliant database, and providing it as a fully manage solution that scales from 1 user to 10,000 or more!!”, the TAAP Fundraiser Product Manager Louise Lawson said “we have been delivering solutions to charities for very many years, I’m passionate about what we are doing, and I love the simplicity of the solution, anybody can use it out of the box”.
TAAP have a number of Charitable products to help address this market and sector, these include F2F Fundraiser, Regular Giving, Kiosks, Steward/Museum guides and customer payment solutions. TAAP’s CEO said “this isn’t a single product its part of a payment solution platform to help organisations to streamline their fundraising technology”.
