Tandoor at the Chambers showcases its vegetarian Indian food

Tandoor at the Chambers, a fine-dining restaurant which brings a taste of North India to Buckhurst Hill, Essex, is showcasing its meat-free dishes following this week’s National Vegetarian Week.

Owners Vip and Manisha Bagga said “We’re always delighted to offer our vegetarian customers a great-tasting range of full-flavour dishes cooked to a very high standard by one of our highly qualified chefs. We focus on very fresh, locally sourced ingredients.”

On the menu at the Tandoor at the Chambers is paneer marinated in fennel and yoghurt with cream cheese, alongside kebabs with spinach, potatoes, peas and a beetroot chutney. Meanwhile, curries include tandoor-smoked aubergine, and there are plenty of vegetarian desserts on offer.

The venue reopened on May 14, following a family holiday, and will, of course, continue to serve its vegetable-based fare long after National Vegetarian Week is over.

The restaurant also supplies takeaways, and opens for dinner between Tuesday and Saturday while offering a lunch-time menu. Weekend evenings are so busy there are two sittings. Meanwhile, the restaurant is open on Sundays from 12pm until 10pm.
