BBC Dragon’s Den success story TEA+ unveils latest nationwide listing post Vitabiotics relaunch

Vitamin-infused tea brand launches into SuperDrug after securing Vitabiotics investment,

TEA+, a vitamin-infused tea brand, has launched into 250 SuperDrug stores nationwide following a fruitful appearance on BBC’s Dragon’s Den and investment from Tej Lalvani – CEO of the UK’s leading vitamin manufacturer, Vitabiotics. Founder, James Dawson, won over the dragon with his unique brand of healthy hot drinks that can provide up to 100% of an individual’s daily requirements of specific vitamins in every cup. This listing adds to the recent launched into 730 Holland & Barrett stores and 500 Boots stores across the UK and Ireland.

Reformulated and rebranded as part of its addition to the Vitabiotics portfolio, every TEA+ tea bag has an exact blend of vitamins, tea and herbs to help benefit both consumers’ overall health and target specific nutrient needs.

The product range now contains four distinctive varieties:

Vitamin D, with 100% of the vitamin D RDA alongside green tea and lemongrass;

Energy, containing 100% of the RDA in 8 B vitamins, ginseng, vitamin C and yerba mate;

Cleanse, with selenium, vitamins B and C, milk thistle, dandelion root & ginger root; and

Defence, combining 100% of the RDA in vitamin C with echinacea and ginseng.

Each box of TEA+ comes in a two week routine – designed to be taken as a daily vitamin supplement to contribute towards a healthy diet.

TEA+ founder James Dawson set up the company after his demanding lifestyle revealed a gap in the healthy hot drink market. He was living in Dubai selling software brands for IBM and his wife was working in a high-pressure financial services role.

“Because of our hectic lifestyles, between working, commuting and socialising, we found it hard to keep on top of our health. We tried to be as health-conscious as possible but would regularly forget to take supplements and it’s easy to let your diet slip when you’re working long hours.”

He felt there was space for an everyday, functional product that could help busy people like him meet their daily vitamin requirements without having to worry.

“I saw functional water, juices, yoghurts, but nothing in the healthy hot drinks space. With so many busy professionals drinking hot drinks throughout the day, we knew this was the area we wanted to shake up. Our mission was create blends of vitamin-infused tea with evidence-based science to back up the health claims around areas such as immunity, energy and muscle function.”

CEO of Vitabiotics, Tej Lalvani, said: “TEA+ is a truly innovative and exciting addition to the Vitabiotics product portfolio, and we are thrilled about becoming a long-term partner. The hot drink space is constantly evolving and we’re confident the relaunched product range will appeal to a broad spectrum of health-conscious consumers who are maintaining busy lifestyles. We’re delighted that the brand will be able to benefit from the expertise of Vitabiotics to sit at the forefront of innovation in healthy hot drinks and take the category in a direction it’s never been before.”

TEA+ is available from Holland & Barrett, Boots, SuperDrug, Ocado and teaplusdrinks.com now, priced at £3.95 for 14 bags (RRP).
