Conservative MP Backs Ethical Plastic-Free London Business
A plastic-free and ethically sourced Wandsworth business are leading the charge by pledging to go plastic-free with all their Christmas orders.
Husband and wife team, Philip and Hanna Joseph of the independent speciality tea company Teasup, based in Putney, South West London, came to their decision after being inspired by their local council’s recent pledge to tackle climate change with the goal of being carbon neutral by 2030.
With Wandsworth making great strides towards creating a better and greener environment Philip and Hanna said, “We want our small business to contribute positively to the environment in which we live; this is often tough because the wider global infrastructure has yet to catch up with the positive environmental intent. We are totally committed to plastic-free and environmentally friendly packaging, as well as taking other initiatives like re-using materials to reduce waste.”
The support for Teasup’s initiative reached new heights when their call-to-action, and ‘go green’ message gained an endorsement from MP and passionate environmentalist, Zac Goldsmith who said, “Teasup is a local business with a strong ethical and environmental ethos, committed to plastic-free and environmentally packaging and ethically sourced tea. I wish this business the best of luck!”
Teasup was launched in March 2019 and are on a mission to seek out the best quality whole leaf tea from the top tea gardens across the globe, ethically sourced and in environmentally -friendly packaging. Teasup belongs to the Ethical Tea partnership. This ensures you can drink your cuppa knowing not a single person has been exploited in the process.
