The DPO Centre team walk, run and cycle 50 kilometers in 50 hours for charity
27 employees from the DPO Centre, based in Ipswich, have taken part in a challenge for St Helena’s Hospice in Colchester.
Over 1,400km were covered (the equivalent of Norwich to Malta) and in total more than £6,700 was raised.
The DPO Centre is now into its fifth year and to celebrate hitting the 500-client milestone its extraordinary team undertook a 50km challenge (running, walking or cycling) over a 50-hour period to raise money for St Helena Hospice in Colchester.
The DPO Centre’s administration office is based in Ipswich and many of its employees are from the region. All sponsorship money raised will be match funded by the company.
Rob Masson, CEO, The DPO Centre said “I am delighted that so many members of our ‘#oneteam’ have embraced this challenge. Everyone has given up their time to raise funds for St Helena Hospice, which has made a significant difference to the lives of some of our colleagues and their families.”
Rachel Joy, fundraiser at St Helena Hospice in Colchester, said “We are incredibly grateful to the team at The DPO Centre for taking on this challenge to raise money for St Helena Hospice. Our core services are provided free of charge, and only a small percentage of our funding is provided by the NHS. It’s thanks to our incredible supporters, like The DPO Centre, raising money and giving up their time that we are able to support local people facing incurable illness and bereavement. Thank you!”
