Thrill Digital deliver VR shopping experience to combat lockdown and climate change

Fashiontech pioneer Thrill Digital is delighted to be able to announce the launch of its innovative virtual reality (VR) shopping experience ThrillXR, which effectively ‘teleports’ users to their favourite luxury stores, all the while allowing them to remain within the comfort of their own home.

The future of fashion is liable to involve far more VR and augmented reality (AR) as shoppers and retailers alike adapt to a world that embraces social distancing. The desire to browse stores is as strong as ever, and with that being more difficult now than it has been in living memory, VR headsets are likely to play a large role in how people shop going forward.

Alex 'Delz' Erinle, Thrill Digital CEO and Co-founder, said: “As the fashion industry suffers from sustainability and a lack of sales from tourist shoppers, VR effectively solves both of these issues by offering a viable alternative to physically visiting a store, while simultaneously giving travellers a more immersive way to shop that goes beyond the flat 2D website.”

Launched in July 2020 in a bid to assist retailers struggling as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, Thrill Digital has already worked with D La Repubblica, one of Italy’s most prominent newspapers, been selected for the Innovation for Sustainable Fashion Accelerator at the University of Cambridge and selected as one of the top 4 startups of the SBCfashiontech accelerator which is backed by retail giants like Prada.

Thrill Digital also creates an array of technologies that can benefit the fashion sector, including 3D adverts, digital clothes, brand avatars, AR try-on apps and also digital fashion shows.
