Digital Marketing Entrepreneur Secures Backing from Yorkshire-based Private Equity House

Yorkshire-based entrepreneur, Tim Whitworth, of private equity house TIM Group Holdings, is pleased to announce he has backed an exciting new digital marketing start-up. Created by young female entrepreneur Chloe Byrne, Audience was conceived with the primary purpose of connecting smaller businesses with their target audiences.

“For many business owners, the day-to-day running of their business is already more than a full-time job. This leaves them with no spare time to focus on developing a digital marketing strategy. But to grow, it isn’t something they can afford to ignore,” says Chloe. “My passion is all about removing the myth that digital marketing for small businesses is a dark art. Instead, I want to set business owners on the right path to getting in front of their audiences and having their businesses found online.”

Chloe, 25, was the Head of Marketing for one of the UK’s leading business brokers for several years. Having worked with numerous small-to-medium enterprise owners, she realised the struggle many of these SMEs had in getting started with digital marketing or even having any sort of online presence through a website or social media. The barriers faced by business owners are not solely due to time constraints, but also the capability to execute effective digital marketing campaigns, along with cost concerns. With Audience's expertise and proven track record of impressive return on investment for clients, these factors are no longer issues for SME business owners.

Having first-hand experience with businesses of this size and understanding the barriers they face in accessing digital marketing, Mr Whitworth supports Audience's mission statement and values. Having grown a small business to a multi-million-pound operation he has in-depth experience of varying scale, operations and teams. He led the MBO of a small chain of loss-making clothing stores in 2002. As CEO he created a highly successful multi-channel retail business by driving the business through turnaround and explosive growth. He also steered the business through three successive, successful, private equity investment stages, culminating in a deal worth £300m with a major US PE house.
