Start up vitamin tea company T Plus lands gamechanging investment from Tej Lelvani after Dragon’s Den appearance

James Dawson, founder of the independent, Harraogate based business, pitched the vitamin tea on Dragon’s Den where they won investment from the CEO of vitamin giant Vitabiotics.

The partnership with Tej Lelvani and Vitabiotics will be a gamechanger for the start up brand as they look to establish a whole new category of healthy hot drinks to the market.

"The whole Dragons Den process was quite an experience but we’ve come out with a better deal than I could have imagined going in,” says Dawson.

“To link up with Tej and move our company into the Vitabiotics family is a game changer for us. We plan to leverage the Vitabiotics research and expertise in vitamins and health to help grow our range of vitamin and mineral infused super teas!”

T Plus, which launched in 2016, was set up by James and his wife Jade. Their vision was to create a new category of vitamin super teas with the aim to combine the health benefits of herbal and green teas with that of supplements. The brand quickly saw success, winning a start up business award and gaining listings across the country.

Today T Plus vitamin teas are available in over 700 stores nationwide, including Holland & Barrett, Boots, Ocado, Whole Foods and many independent health food stores.

Dragon’s Den re-airs on BBC2 Sunday 10th June at 6pm.
