Are you a hotshot freestyler, a big wave rider, or a kite enthusiast ? Want to improve your style or to learn from the pros? Travelgems.com is bringing multiple World Kite Surfer Champion Victor Hays to Nafpaktos to teach and offer his advice in improving ones kite surfing style. Victor Hays will be joined by Youri Zoon another famous kiteboarder. Dates for the retreat are from 29th June to 4th July and is priced from £1235 per person.

The purpose of this retreat is to gain skills and experience, through daily sessions with the two renowned instructors- athletes; a world champion and a kite developer.

The team will be available to answer any questions on style, boards and discuss how to develop one’s technique, learn from a nutritionist how to nurture the body, preparing for long sessions in the water. And ultimately, have lots of fun!

This six day retreat in Nafpaktos will start with daily sessions with Youri and Victor, Q&A sessions with the instructors (Youri, Victor & George), the nutritionist and enough leisure time to put into action the new skills or just relax under the Greek sun. Also, included is an excursion to Tsimari , one of the best freestyle spots in mainland Greece! The retreat is priced at £1235 per person to include accommodation in a double room at the four star Nafs Hotel, half board accommodation (breakfast and dinner), tuition, bespoke nutrition plan and excursion to Tsimari. Not included is the equipment rental.

About Youri Zoon
Youri Zoon grew up by the sea in the Southwest of the Netherlands and has been an extreme sports addict from a young age. BMX, Windsurfing, Motocross, you name it. With each of these activities, Youri always pushed himself to the limit. At age 13, Youri decided to focus exclusively on kiteboarding and joined the VKWC (formerly known as PKRA). Being one of the most powerful riders in the circuit, however, can bring misfortunes. In 2007 and 2008 he was seriously injured ripping his ACL both times, and had to stop kiting during those seasons. He came back to the championships in 2009 more motivated than ever. By becoming PKRA Vice World Champion, he quenched any doubt regarding his performance level. With determination and focus, Youri grabbed the PKRA World Title in both 2011 and 2012.

About Victor Hays in his own words:
``I’m Victor Hays, I’m French and I’ve been in the kiteboarding world for the past 15 years. Until 2016 I was competing in the Freestyle world tour (PKRA / WKWC / WKL) where I would travel to the best destinations in the world. I was at the top level in Junior category, then I moved to Senior division, until I ended up at the Top 12 for a couple of years. Apart from my competition life, my friendship with some of the guys from the World Tour grew stronger, and I decided to stop competing to focus on media, photography and videography, creating and organizing shoots for my sponsors and for different kiteboarding magazines, the most important thing being able to travel with my best friends from the tour. My passion for kiteboarding has been growing since day one, and I’m now able to also do lot of R&D for my sponsors, which opened up my mind a lot, when it comes to the Kiteboarding business. My main discipline is Freestyle, but ever since I stopped competing, I’ve stayed in touch with pretty much all aspects of the sport, witch still gives me motivation to ride.``

About Christina Kostara
Christina is a Nutritionist – Dietician with a BSc from the Alexander Technological and Educational Institute, in Thessaloniki, Greece and an MSc
(Medical Science) with merit in Human Nutrition, Awarded with Specialisation in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Glasgow. Since 2003, she has been Head Dietitian at the “Nutrition Support & Dietetics” Department of IASO. She is specialising in sports nutrition and she has served as a member of the Scientific Board of Approvals (Product Assessment Division: Foodstuffs Intended for Particular Nutritional Uses and Food Supplements) of the National Organization for Medicines (EOF).
