East Anglian tutoring business selected as approved NTP partner to help bridge pupils learning gap

East Anglian tutoring company, Tutor Doctor, has been chosen as one of just 29 UK-wide businesses to provide tutoring to schools across East Anglia by the National Tutoring Programme (NTP), the UK Government-funded scheme to address learning loss during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a NTP Tuition Partner, Tutor Doctor Cambridge & Norwich will help pupils in secondary schools across the whole of East Anglia whose educational learning has been most affected over the past 18 months. With more than a decade of proven experience working with pupils across all key stages from mainstream and specialist schools, Tutor Doctor is well placed to give students the extra support they need to reach their full potential.

Having delivered over 100,000 hours of tutoring to over 15 secondary schools in and around Cambridge, the council and 2,000+ private clients since 2010, Tutor Doctor has now expanded its services to Norwich to give pupils the extra support they need to reach their full potential. With over 200 tutors on their books, the business has also worked with over 550 disadvantaged students, through schools, helping them to improve their grade trajectory for GCSE’s.

Owner of Cambridge based Tutor Doctor, Rob Kerrison, is delighted to have achieved the NTP accreditation. “I’m hugely proud that our tutoring business has been selected to support teachers in the incredible work they are doing during these challenging times. Tutoring is one of the most effective tools to support learning and accelerate pupil progress and I believe it can also help build positive relationships, develop confidence and self-esteem.

“I’m really looking forward to helping bridge the gap for those children who have felt the brunt of the impact through school closures, and we can’t wait to start working with our local schools and their pupils.”

Tutor Doctor Cambridge & Norwich will supply targeted support for pupils in secondary schools across East Anglia. With 70% of the cost subsidised by the government, the tuition will take place in either small groups of up to three or 1:1 and will be delivered either face-to-face or online subject to the requirements of the schools and their students.
