Variety Cruises has built a school in the village of Lamin Koto, with the support of the management, cruise guests, crew, and fundraising. The school was handed over to the local community where over 100 children attend. In April 2018, Variety Cruises launched the Kuntaur Children's Film Festival where classic children’s films are screened in an open air cinema constructed by Variety Cruises' guests, crew and the local community. For example, during April 2018, children and families got to watch classic children films such as "the Lion King"and"The never ending story", while experiencing cinema with homemade popcorn.
