Norths super casino set to kick-off festival of football

A Yorkshire-based super casino is hosting a ‘festival of football’ to kick-off celebrations in Leeds ahead of the World Cup.

On Thursday 7 June, Victoria Gate Casino will launch the city’s football celebrations with a friendly competition in Leeds city centre, ahead of the England friendly against Costa Rica taking place at Elland Road Stadium.

Local residents and professionals are invited to take part in the competition which will take place on Briggate, between 12-2pm. It will feature a football speed cage and participants are invited to kick a golden football as fast as possible, with prizes up for grabs for the highest speed.

One fast lucky winner will receive a VIP experience at the Live Bar for the screening of an upcoming football match of their choice.

There is also a £500 corporate bar-tab on offer, for companies that encourage their employees to take part in the competition on their lunch break. The company representative with the highest speed will be rewarded the prize for a team night-out.

Live Bar at Victoria Gate Casino will be screening every international match this summer on its 32ft screen, the biggest sports screen in Leeds.

A football-focused loyalty scheme has been developed for customers viewing the matches at Live Bar, whereby a reward can be redeemed after attending the third, sixth and tenth matches.

The casino has also partnered with Leeds-based technology firm, KwizzBit, to provide game-show style entertainment for football fans.

KwizzBit will showcase its interactive gaming software and attendees will have the opportunity win prizes by taking part in a fast-paced, football-themed game-show style quiz.

Since opening in January 2017, Victoria Gate Casino has earned the reputation as the super casino of the north, with three floors of bars, dining and gaming opportunities. The casino has the most extensive selection of slots and electronic gaming in the north of England and features a dedicated poker room and live betting experience.

In addition to the numerous gaming opportunities, the casino offers its guests the chance to relax in its two bars, Curve and Live bar, and also features the biggest sports screen in Leeds. Victoria Gate Casino’s on-site V Restaurant offers a luxury dining experience with dishes designed to impress served all day.

Patrick Noakes, managing director of Victoria Gate Casino commented:

“We’re proud to be based in the bustling city of Leeds ahead of an exciting summer of football. The 7th June will put Leeds on the map as a hot-spot for the beautiful game as The Three Lions take on Costa Rica in our local stadium in the evening. We’re hoping our speed-cage challenge will kick-off the journey and raise anticipation for the weeks ahead.

“Victoria Gate Casino boasts the largest sports screen in Leeds and we want to welcome as many fans as possible to enjoy the games in comfort with us. Our Festival of Football will see ongoing quizzes, food and drink offers, and prizes to be won to create a memorable atmosphere for our first world cup since we opened last year.”
