Video only local marketplace app launched to take on competing competitors Craigslist & Shpock

Vidpost is the first snapchat like video-based marketplace and virtual flea market app for buying and selling used goods in your neighbourhood.

The app makes it easy for sellers (who do not have to pay a fee to use the service) to showcase what they are offering using video, and bring their goods to life. They can film themselves playing their guitar, driving their car or rocking the shoes and clothes they’re selling. This obviously gives people a clear idea of how something works, and sellers have the chance to describe their stuff.

Equally, buyers have more confidence in what they’re buying, as well as more precise information on their goods, saving time and potentially money.

Company Founder & CEO Salman said: “Whatever you buy or sell, videos really are the best way of showcasing any item. Show every angle & describe what you're selling by talking in the video''. It’s like being at a flea market or yard sale in person!

How it works

Vidpost is very easy to use. Simple record a video of the item, select thumbnail, enter title, descriptions and price then post. With a Snapchat like interface. Users can easily scroll through items for sale and watch a video of the item instead of a generic picture.

There’s an in-app messenger for private communication, and it’s possible to ‘Favourite’ a listing and return to it later, find discount deals on a wide range of items, and see which ones are trending locally. Buyers can browse the best deals near them, or filter their search if they’re looking for something specific. Buyers who make an offer are notified once the offer is accepted

There are twelve main categories you can choose from: Fashion and Accessories; Home and Garden; Electronics; Entertainment; Tech; Baby and Child; Sport, Leisure; Services; Cars and Motor; Trade items and Other'.

Vidpost hasn’t reinvented the wheel, but it has made an online marketplace that's unique, cheaper and easier to use. The app is free and does not charge any fees to post an item & does not take a commission on items sold on the platform. Vidpost is also available on both iOS and Android. If you’re looking for a cheap alternative to selling with eBay or Letgo. it’s worth giving Vidpost a go.
