Local in-home care provider wins coveted international award

In-home care provider, Visiting Angels, has been recognised for its exceptional performance over the last 12 months. Lynn and Chris James, the owners and co-directors of Visiting Angels North Surrey, have brought home the Best International Office Award from the care brand’s international conference, which was recently held in Florida. Showing no sign of slowing down, Lynn and Chris, who launched their business in 2020, have cemented Visiting Angels’ mission of continuing to raise the standards for care provision around the UK, starting right here in North Surrey.

“We’re delighted to have had our team’s efforts and commitment recognised through winning the Best International Office Award,” explained Lynn. “To have only launched two years ago and already have our work celebrated like this is a huge achievement. It couldn’t have been done without collective commitment and belief in what we do. We’re all so devoted to raising the standards of care provision in our community, to have our ongoing work affirmed on an international scale is something that will continue to drive us over the next 12 months and beyond.”

Lynn and Chris, along with their team of 35 carers, were awarded the Best international Office Award amongst international offices in the USA, Mexico, Canada, South Korea and the UK. Undeterred by the pandemic, Visiting Angels’ essential service met the growing demand for exceptional and attentive care in the local community, while giving devoted carers the chance to revitalise their career with a brand that truly protects its staff.

Visiting Angels’ ‘carer-centric’ approach sets it apart from other companies in the in-home care sector. Carers working for Visiting Angels feel valued and respected for their commitment to the industry. Through both financial rewards, opportunities for career development and wellbeing considered a priority, the local care provider is committed to addressing these existing issues surrounding the industry, which often leaves carers feeling underappreciated and undervalued.

“Winning this award wouldn’t have been possible without our team that is driven by raising the standards of care across the community,” added Lynn. “Since we launched, our priority has been to ensure our carers feel valued and protected, which in turn has resulted in high-quality care for our clients. Our team’s a shining example of how care should be delivered and received across the UK, and we’re incredibly proud to be able to offer it to those in need in our community.”

Visiting Angels provides more than 400 care hours per week to local clients. As Lynn, Chris and the team look to the future, the plan is to continue to increase the range of services and care hours provided, whilst maintaining the stellar reputation the team has established during the course of the last two years.

About Visiting Angels

In 2017, the Visiting Angels brand came to the UK under the expert leadership of Dan Archer. A franchise veteran and passionate ambassador for quality care at home, Dan launched the first UK office in October 2017. In less than 12 months, Visiting Angels Sheffield proved to be one of our most successful new franchises. Ever. Dan and his team were awarded ‘Best International Office’ at our 2018 Annual Conference in recognition of their exceptional performance and commitment to the Visiting Angels UK mission. Most care businesses, and in turn, most care franchises, will tell you that they put their clients first. And whilst we don’t disagree with the sentiment, we take a slightly different view on how to achieve it. We believe that to truly be successful in this pursuit, and to change the future of social care in the UK, we must actually put our carers at the heart of the business. For without them, there is no business. We describe this approach as "carer-centric".
