Undecided Entrepreneurs Get Chance To Question Leading Campaigners On Either Side Of The Brexit Debate
Following demand from its members, Your Business Community (YBC) has organised a Brexit debate supported by both the "Stronger In" & "Vote Leave" campaigns for Thursday 26th May.
"Despite the large amount of media coverage already given to the referendum it is clear that many SMEs remain open to persuasion as to which way they will vote. Consequently, we have organised presentations and a Q&A with leading figures from either side of the debate" commented Ted Wigzell, Co-founder of YBC.
Representing the campaigns are:
In - Michelle Ovens MBE
Campaign Director of EU Small Business
Michelle is a broadly experienced Director of small businesses and campaigns, targeting engagement of multiple stakeholders, including government, big business and media, to deliver specific aims. She is also the driving force behind the UK Small Business Saturday campaign.
Out - Tom Sharpe QC
One Essex Court Chambers
Tom is a barrister specialising in UK and European competition law and commercial judicial review especially in communications, water and energy. He has appeared many times in the Court of Justice of the European Community and in Commission proceedings, as well as in the English Courts, Hong Kong and in the Caribbean. Formerly, he taught law at Oxford University and was educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge and Lincoln’s Inn. He voted for the common market in 1975 and until Maastricht and especially the Lisbon treaty was a keen supporter. But the Union today is not the common market he supported, and is incapable of reform, as Mr Cameron’s failed renegotiation showed.
Hosted at No 1 Cornhill, the iconic City asset of London Executive Offices; the capital’s leading, luxury serviced office provider, 180 entrepreneurs will be attending this event, which includes networking before and after the debate.
