Equality Campaigner and Women’s Magazine Editor Nominated for Leeds Woman of the Year Award!
Dawn-Maria France, Editor-in-Chief of award-winning Yorkshire Women’s Life magazine, was nominated as Woman of the Year in Leeds City’s Compassionate Awards. Dawn-Maria France is an accomplished award-winning journalist,travel writer, broadcaster and children’s author, who is passionate about women’s rights, equality and diversity.
Leeds City Compassionate Awards recognise and celebrate the work of the city's many unsung heroes. The City Compassionate Awards support the vision of Leeds to be the best city in the UK; one that is compassionate and caring with a strong economy, that tackles poverty and reduces inequalities.
Commenting on her nomination for ‘Woman of the Year,’ Dawn-Maria France said: “It’s so wonderful to be acknowledged in this way. I feel truly honoured. I’m a proud Yorkshire lass, and receiving such an accolade is fantastic. It’s a moment in time that I will always treasure.”
The Leeds City Compassionate Awards took place, at Leeds Civic Hall, on Thursday 22 November 2018. The awards celebrated the positive work that individuals, community groups and organisations do every day to make their local communities and the city a great place to live, work and visit.
