Why is CBT and Yoga the most complete therapy available?

At the end of March 2018 in a recent survey published by the NHS, there were 1,254,365 people in contact with mental health services in England; the majority of these- 1,012,781 were adults. Mind.Org.UK suggested that according w to reports from both England and Wales 1 in 8 adults with a mental health problem are currently receiving treatment. Medication was reported as the most common type of treatment in these cases but what if we could redefine our own roles shifting from ‘the patient’ to the ‘healer’?

Daniela da Silva, founder of Blue House Yoga after testing different approaches came to understand that modern science is starting to catch up only now with what Ancient Wisdom has known for thousands of years and it’s our ‘perception of events’ that holds the keys to unlock a better quality of life, to open the clients she teaches how to move and how to think using cognitive behavior therapy technics and yoga at the same time.

Her yoga retreats started as an alternative to holidays, something luxurious but also genuine in which her clients could share a house, stories, meals, move their bodies and explore places together but after a few events she noticed a strong pattern after her sessions: People came with one intention but inevitably the practice would open parts of their psychics and reveal to her painful aspects of their lives that they had difficulties in overcoming despite traditional treatment or worse; in some cases they never discussed with anyone what they had been through as they believed that they were ‘beyond help’

In worth saying that another pattern that she noticed is that her clientele wasn’t what we would expect in terms of people suffering from past traumas what lead her to also understand the connection between chasing success as an antidote to pain, which doesn’t work.

To accommodate the revelations that seemed to always follow her classes Daniela pursued a CBT course passing the exams with distinction but she understands that academic knowledge is only a part of what makes a therapist or teacher able to inspire change in others, for this reason,​ she uses her personal journey to inspire the opening of compassion, forgiveness, courage, love and the reclaiming of purpose on her client’s life.

After experiencing a life of tragedy and losses she overcame PTSD and today she considers herself fortunate not despite but because of her difficult beginnings. Her life mission on her professional side is to empower people to find their inner power that lies in between cellular memories, life experiences and transpersonal (the historical and archetypal collective unconscious).
