Aria Grace Law CIC wins Law Company of the Year at The Lawyer Awards 2023
Aria Grace Law CIC, the brilliant wealth-share corporate law firm is delighted to announce its prestigious win as Law Company of the Year 2023 at this year’s The Lawyer Awards.
Founded in 2018, AGL CIC created a completely new business model, radically changing how money is distributed for the benefit of its lawyers, clients and society. By paying its lawyers 90% of the fees, (20% more than its nearest competitor and up to 70% more than traditional law firms) the firm attracts excellent lawyers from City and US law firms. As lawyers are paid such a large percentage, they can afford to charge their clients less. That’s the first win/win.
The huge earning power generates large profits, all of which go to the firm’s selected charities: foodbanks such as Feast With Us, Age UK, Noah’s Ark Hospice for terminally ill children, Radical Recruit, Hope4.
Founder Lindsay Healy had this to say - ”This win is absolutely massive – particularly as it is coming from the most senior figures of the legal industry – for our business model of wealth share which benefits, literally, everyone. This is capitalism done properly and it really blows people’s minds.
While obviously lawyers can make a huge amount of money in our model, in some cases £80,000 take home pay a month, but they are doing so in a model where clients pay less: in many cases they pay half of what they would pay for that same lawyer at a City firm. The lawyer earns more, the client pays less. But the truly wonderful bit isn’t about the wealthy lawyers, it is that we have created a machine that will provide for the most needy. A lawyer earning £80k a month generates an additional £4k for charity a month. That’s one lawyer. Times that by 50, then 100, then 500, as more lawyers come on board – that’s £2m per month for those that need it. The potential for using money for good is huge and the impact is enormous. A £5k donation can pay for 2 recruiters at Radical Recruit for 2 months who then can get many homeless or vulnerable people into work. This has enormous society benefits. A £4k donation can create 456 meals – that’s feeding 4 families of 4 people with nutritious food for a whole month at Feast With Us as well as saving vital CO2. These charities and others like Key4life or Hope4, or Noah’s Ark Hospice, AGE UK all massively benefit from this model. The more we can make, the more we can give and by adopting this approach, we hope to inspire other businesses to follow suit and work towards building a better future for all….and that’s on top of all the DEI initiatives, flexible working, trees planted, pro bono work …perhaps for another time.”
The Lawyer Awards’ judges commented, ‘This year’s winner is praised for its unique (90%) fee-sharing model as well as great CSR/ESG angle, as the judges put it, what's not to like? Their approach marries a true notion of flexible working: attracting the right talent and driving costs down for the client.
For being a truly excellent and innovative business, in the early stages but deserving of every future success, congratulations go to Aria Grace Law CIC'.
