British Franchise Association encourage brands to enter Elite Franchise 100 as deadline looms

The deadline to enter the Elite Franchise Top 100 (EF100) yearly league table has been extended to Friday 14th October 5pm, the results of which will exhibit the very best of the UK’s franchisors. This year is the first time representatives from the senior leadership team of the British Franchise Association (bfa) will help judge the final ranking positions.

Emily Price, Chief Operating Officer of the bfa, explained, “As the association representing the franchising community and influencing standards for 45 years, it’s only right that we look to ensure industry wide initiatives, such as the EF100 list are embraced and supported. Alongside our CEO Pip Wilkins, I’ll be joining the judging team, enabling an association’s perspective through the judging process and an opportunity to influence standards for those that are ranked.”

A large proportion of each year’s EF100 league table are bfa-accredited franchise brands but for those not currently represented by the bfa, their involvement helps to understand where they could reach out to and serve non-members.

“Importantly, at the bfa, we want to provide the wider franchise community with an action-based commitment through our involvement in the EF100. Our desire is to continue our evolution through collaboration, diversity and inclusion. The benefits of membership of the bfa stretch far beyond a stamp of approval, providing a meaningful opportunity for the franchise community - franchisors and franchisees alike - to collectively influence the direction of change for the industry alongside us.”

It's not surprising then that as judges this year, the bfa will be looking for franchise entrants to be demonstrating the ethics and values they so strongly uphold, “We’ll be looking for a solid commitment both in the development of the business model and ongoing efforts afforded to sustainability through both franchisee-franchisor relationship and protecting supply chains, product development and systems supporting success. A strong work ethic, a will to look beyond the contract, operating in good faith and with humanity are all elements that should not be overlooked when assessing any franchise brand.”

Entries for the EF100 close on Friday 14th October at 5pm. Finalists will be announced on Monday 5th December and the celebratory evening for the UK’s elite in franchising will take place in Spring 2023.
