Life's too short to blend in. Fat Lad At The Back launch bold Camo Collection

Leading premium cycle wear brand that specializes in inclusive sizing launches bold and vibrant Camo collection for Lads & Lasses with the message that ‘Life’s too short to blend in’.

If the last year or so has taught us anything, it’s that we truly have no clue what’s around the corner. It’s become glaringly obvious that life really is too short to give a whatsit about what others’ think. Embracing the notion of self-love and self-acceptance has been a huge theme as of late and part of that is being bold in one’s authenticity. Everyone is unique so why blend in when you can stand out for what makes you, you? Because you, is pretty great.

Fat Lad At The Back, a premium cycle wear brand that specialize in inclusive cycling, have made it their mission to dismantle the stereotypes and conventions of the cycling world. In doing so they have realized how important it is to accept yourself the way you are and to celebrate your uniqueness. The brand’s values are all about being bold and being proud which trickles down in to everything they do, including their gear. Their new Camo collection is no exception to this. Using vibrant colours, they have created a bold and energetic yet wearable camouflage design which contradicts the traditional use of camouflage. There’s no way you couldn’t blend in with this design!

Available in both men’s and women’s, the collection boasts an outfit of jackets, jerseys and shorts. A lightweight wind and water resistant jacket with stretchy lycra side panels for ultimate fit. This transitional piece can also be scrunched up and popped in your jersey pocket if the sun comes out mid-ride. The jersey is their ‘Fleet’ jersey which is one of their premium quality jerseys with all the features and the shorts and pedal pushers and made from top technical fabric with padding to ensure optimum comfort.

About Fat Lad At The Back

It all began with a nickname. Richard, our Co-founder, had always been called the 'fat lad at the back' as a term of endearment by his cycling mates. He was never the conventional cyclist and knew it, so he wore the name with pride knowing that, although he might have been the fat lad at the back, he was still on the bike and that's all that mattered. Plus it didn't matter much when he owned the down hills. It became clear to Richard and Lynn (Co-founders) that cycle wear wasn't made for guys of Richard's size and he was constantly uncomfortable on his bike. So, it occurred to them that if they couldn’t find any premium cycling gear, in a plus-size and a comfortable fit, then it was highly likely no one else could. That's where Fat Lad At The Back was conceived. They took a bit of a punt and set up a brand that aimed to make premium and stylish cycle wear for every body, no matter the size.
