Young mum Wows TEDx Audience With Her Insights Into How We Need To Blame Our Biology, Not Technology, For All The Disruptions We See In The World

Young mum and social entrepreneur, Fran Boorman, received the honor of being invited to speak a TEDx Event on the 29th September 2018. She gave a thought proving talk into decoding why the world has changed. Fran enlightened the audience about reasons beyond technology that result in all the disruptions we see.

About TEDx:

The independently organized event, licensed by TED, featured carefully selected speakers from around the UK under the theme of ‘Not Business As Usual’. Launched in 2009, TEDx is program of locally organized events that bring the community together to share a TED-like experience. Some of the best talks from TEDx events have gone on to be featured on TED.com and garnered millions of views from audiences across the globe.

Fran was introduced to TED talks by an early mentor when she started building her first business over a decade ago. Since then she has been an avid fan and admits having “consumed hundreds of hours of TED videos”. She was honored to be asked to be a part of this exclusive event held at the Innovation Center of Wolverhampton University.

About Fran:

Fran, at the age of 36 and around her two young children, has already built a business with a multi-million-pound turnover. She has become a key spokesperson for SMEs and frequently represents the views of small business on BBC Radio and in Government round table discussions. As well as continuing to run her own businesses she supports many other small businesses and start-ups through a highly popular free online forum that she founded.

Fran’s TEDx Talk:

During her 15 minute talk to the 120 strong audience Fran shared her LOGIC Shift Model where she exposes the misconceptions about how technology is changing the world. Instead she explains the human element to the disruptions we are all seeing and feeling. Fran explains how the real change has been a result of a shift in power and perspective, technology being just the enabler that has resulted in this happening. She talked the audience through her research into the internal battle we have against our biology and the natural functions of our brain to search for convenience and connection. She left the audience with key advice to help them become great leaders of the future by embracing the new world that we find ourselves in.

Quotes:

Fran says; “It’s a huge honor and privilege to be invited to speak at such a prestigious event. This week has been a bit of a juggle around the kids as I had already been invited to deliver keynotes at two other events, so I had lots of scripts to learn. However, I couldn’t have asked for TEDx to have gone any better and I am so pleased at the reaction from the audience. In the first 24 hours since the event my twitter following has increased by over 1000 new followers! It is great to see that this insight appears to be spreading already, and my wish is that it helps many more people feel comfortable and empowered in this exciting new world”

“brilliant Talk… inspiring and resonating” Jenny Thomas, TEDx Speaker

“You totally rocked the room” Sara Mosley, TEDx Speaker
