Eleven Year Old Drumming Sensation Sees YouTube Channel Take Off
It has been announced today that a popular musical YouTube channel under the name 'Henry Chauhan Drums' has reached 40,000 subscribers in less than 6 months since it was founded. The channel features Henry Chauhan, an eleven-year-old drummer from Birmingham, UK, who holds a grade 8 level in the instrument. The channel began with the help of Henry's mother and father who encouraged him to record cover versions of his favourite songs in order to showcase his talent to the world.
Despite only starting to upload videos towards the end of 2019, many of the YouTube videos have already gained over 100,000 views. Henry's instantly popular videos have also been shared on Facebook where he has acquired over 80,000 likes from a digital audience around the globe. Henry posted his first drum cover, a rendition of Happier by Marshmello ft. Bastille, just four months ago and he has since created dozens of drum covers in a remarkably short space of time.
Henry's musical versions range from songs by popular modern bands like The Weeknd and BTS to tried-and-true classics, such as those by Iggy Pop and Elvis Presley. Speaking about the rapid rise in popularity of Henry's channel, a company spokesperson stated: “Henry Chauhan's channel covers a diverse range of artists, which allows Henry to draw in a wide and varied viewership. His drumming talent is exceptional, especially for an eleven-year-old, and illustrates that Henry is truly an artist to watch as his career progresses and his channel continues to grow over the next few months.”
While song covers by singers have always been popular on YouTube, Henry has carved out a new space as a young drummer on the platform. During 2020, Henry plans to post covers in collaboration with other musicians and is exploring the possibility of starting his own band. Henry posts 1-2 new videos each week for fans to enjoy and subscribers can be notified immediately about new uploads.
