US nail and beauty trend on offer in the UK thanks to House Cats

Beauty treatment brand House Cats is bringing its American concept to the UK market through its two branches. It’s putting the bar into nail bar by offering customers a glass of sparkling prosecco while they get their nails done.

“We believe that this kind of beauty treatment shouldn’t be merely functional,” said Angel Zagorov, who co-owns the business with partner Kameliya Paneva.

“We’re all about creating a lovely experience as well as making our clients’ nails and hair look gorgeous. This idea was already popular in the States, where women regularly enjoy a drink with friends while having their nails and hair done. We’ve brought that over here.”

Retail manager Zagorov and Paneva, an artist and nail technician, launched the business in Teddington, where they opened their first branch. At the end of 2018, their second outlet launched in Parsons Green near Fulham, and it’s already doing a brisk trade.

In September 2019, House Cats marks its third birthday. The business has more than tripled in terms of its staff, from three employees to a team of 10, since its launch.

Beauty treatments include manicures and pedicures, alongside a professional make-up service and a blow-dry or quick-fix hair solutions.

Prosecco and champagne are on offer from the bar, by the glass or bottle. Alternatively, customers can enjoy a refreshing tea or coffee on the house.

“We believe these treatments should be sociable and fun,” says Zagorov. “We offer the perfect chance to relax with family or friends, indulge and be pampered. It’s ideal for a hen party.”
