Indulge your Senses with a visit to Provence
Last autumn I decided to explore one of my favourite places - Provence, South of France. Provence spans a huge area of the south, from the Camargue through to the Côte d'Azur! I decided this time to explore the Luberon region of Provence and wow! I am so glad I did! I enhanced my experience by hiring a vintage classic car through my supplier in Provence. The car was a vintage MGA, her name was Maggie, made in the 1950's. She was smooth and glamorous; suddenly I had celebrity status, everyone waved, chatted to me, admiring the stunning Maggie.
Luberon enhanced all of my senses … the smell of rosemary, the ever-changing colours of the vast countryside, the delightful taste of the famous Provencal wine, the sound of the crickets at dusk and the soft touch of the vine leaves.
Each village is special in its own right, such as Lourmarin nestled amongst vines, olive groves and almond trees with its grand Renaissance Castle. Menerbes with unforgettable views over the Provencal countryside is home to the former residence of Dora Maar, a lover and Muse of Picasso.
There is no better way to explore Luberon than in a vintage classic car - the sun beating down upon you but the breeze keeping you refreshed.
