Regrets and Opportunities of the Post-Pandemic Traveller

“You regret 100% of the shots you don’t take.” The words are Wayne Gretsky’s, but the feeling is one we have all felt while being cut off from the things we all took for granted 3 years ago.

Travel, socialising, visiting family, even just going for a walk or to the corner store became ‘illegal’ in some countries. And for some it still is.

So as the world opens up a little more, what do you regret never doing?

Bucket lists have always been a popular topic of conversation, but even more so since our forced isolation. And travel has also always been dominant in these lists.

Hiking in Machu Picchu, Watching the Northern Lights in Iceland, or Enjoying the fast paced action of the Rugby World Cup, or even the Glamourous Monaco Grand Prix from the deck of a Luxury Yacht - are all experiences that many have dreamed of.

But what if it didn’t have to be a dream?

While many have suffered financial challenges in the past few years, there is also a group who have thrived, saved money due to working from home, and are itching to be free to get out and explore.

With sporting events being just one popular theme of many lists, the Monaco Grand Prix, Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (the season finale), Ryder Cup, and Rugby World Cup, are all great experiences to consider checking off your list in 2022 and 2023.

Monaco is just around the corner in May this year, and hospitality packages are now incredibly limited.

Abu Dhabi ends the season in November 2022 with a spectacular twilight race, so where else would you want to be but in the luxurious Harbour Club, part of the 5* W Hotel and overlooking three turns.

The Rugby World Cup will be hosted by France in September/ October 2023, with key games in Paris and Marseilles.

And finally the more relaxed rolling greens of the Ryder Cup will be ready and waiting in September 2023 in Rome, Italy.
