Lancashire Hotel ready to open its doors to Al fresco diners from April 12th

After months and months of restrictions Lavender Hotels that operates the Higher Trapp House in Simonstone, Burnley is ready to welcome guests back to its outside eating area called Fitzy’s Al Fresco.

As national restrictions are beginning to loosen Higher Trapp House decided that it would start early by enabling guests to have a meal out in their outside eating area.

Jamie Proctor, General Manager of the Higher Trapp House said “Fitzy’s has long been established locally and has been our hotel restaurant for at least 20 years. When the guidelines were announced we considered what we could do to offer our customers the opportunity to meet up with friends, family and loved ones and so Fitzy’s Al Fresco was born.”

Fitzys Al Fresco has been created outside within their marquee in the extensive and beautiful gardens of Higher Trapp House.

Jamie went on to say that “the response we have had on social media as a result of our announcement has been nothing short of phenomenal with bookings to match. It will be fantastic to be really busy again, allowing us to bring staff off furlough and even look to recruit additional staff due to the success of our bookings so far.”

Diners will be under cover in what’s described as a rustic dining environment, the diners will receive table service at all times and will be allowed inside to use the toilet facilities.

The one thing the hotel cannot dictate is the weather. Jamie went to say that “We are hoping for a spring like last year as we have additional outdoor seating on our terraces however if it’s not cracking the flags then underneath the canopy are electric heaters, fleece blankets and we are advising customers to bring an extra layer”.

The hotel is taking bookings for lunch, afternoon tea, early dinner and evening dinner with allocated time slots to ensure a managed arrival departure and cleaning process. A maximum of 6 people can eat together or two households.

The Higher Trapp House has remained open throughout the latest lock down but has been heavily restricted to room service meals for its residents and no public guests allowed to visit but as Jamie stated “Its just going to be fantastic to allow us look after guests again, we will be so happy to see the guests and for them to be allowed to see each other.”
