Lone Design Club and SwapChain come together to offer sustainable swapping service this September

Sustainability and ethics are the heart of Lone Design Club and the motivation behind all of their activations and projects. Always with a strong focus on working towards a more circular, less harmful world, whilst helping their brands and planet. Aware of the need for continuous innovation and the importance of the second-hand market, Lone Design Club launches their first foray into the second-hand, vintage clothing market with the launch of LDC X SWAPCHAIN.

Bringing an accessible and sustainable fashion option, the LDC X SWAPCHAIN pop-up will be offering consumers the chance to participate and discover luxury fashion in an ultimately sustainable way, through swapping!

The pop-up will be part of LDC’s larger Fashion Month pop-up store offering an eclectic mix of luxury, high street and independent brands including the amazing Co-Founder of SWAPCHAIN and acclaimed Designer, Patrick McDowell.

SWAP CHAIN Co-Founder and Designer Patrick McDowell; "SWAPCHAIN is the future of fashion. Since launching the business over London fashion Week SS20, we are going from strength to strength, courting a huge global interest. Showing that the sharing, circular economy will be one of the best ways forward for a truly sustainable future.

As a designer, I believe it is my role to not only design clothes but the systems they sit within and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working on this with LDC”

It’s easy to participate, simply activate your SWAPCHAIN account and bring your items to the Lone Design Club Fashion Week Pop-Up store in Covent Garden!

STEP 1: Participates can bring 5 of their finest wares, including shoes, clothes and accessories to our check-in. Items shall be screened to ensure a quality experience. Each item accepted will receive a credit in exchange. The credits will be their currency for the swap. If their items are not suitable for swapping they can either take them back or leave with us to recycle.

STEP 2: After check-in, the team takes the garments and they can browse the swap shop.

STEP 3: Once they have chosen their items, participles can head to the checkout and they have managed to update their wardrobe guilt-free without spending a penny! For a head start, participants can upload their items to their digital wardrobe, so when they arrive, they can drop their items and get straight to swapping.

"LDC is thrilled to be working with SwapChain, topically during the month of second-hand September. We view this as a fun, interactive way to increase circularity for both us and our designers as well as raising awareness surrounding sustainability within the fashion industry. We can showcase the quality of our designer’s product and show it’s long life span across production, purchase and swapping!" says Lone Design Club COO, Alice McAnulty.

The SwapChain rails will be in store for a whole two week period across Fashion Week, so you can swap to your heart’s content! Be a part of the swapping revolution.
