The story of Ntsama's Chilli Oil

Ntsama Chilli Oil is an up and coming condiment company taking the food world by storm, but this growing business didn't start in the way you might expect. Food trends go in and out of fashion, but there is one critical feature good food needs that never changes: love. That ingredient took an interest in home cooking to the world of high fashion for founder, Joyce Gannon.

Joyce always loved to cook as a hobby, and spent many years honing her skills and experiences. Joyce loved the spice and heat of chillies, but could never find an oil which satisfied her. So she set about creating an original recipe - using the spiciest Scotch Bonnet chillies - which she used in her own home cooking. Joyce regularly loved to feed and entertain guests, and before long friends and family started to ask Joyce where exactly she got that incredibly flavoursome oil from. It was only then Joyce realised that there might be a market for her homegrown chilli oil.

Joyce Gannon, Founder and Director of Ntsama Chilli Oil & Sauces, said: "I think the reason the Ntsama brand is continuing to grow in popularity is how authentic it is. Just as much care, love and attention go into every jar now as they did when I made it at home for my friends and family, and I think the customers know that."

Recently featured in worldwide magazine Vogue, Joyce's sauce has been a hit in the fashion world. It's rustic roots seem to have struck a chord with readers. Currently touring several nationwide food festivals, Ntsama are continuing to grow and expand their range of products daily. They currently offer three distinct flavours: Classic, Ginger and Garlic and Lemon and Thyme.

Even as the company continues to grow, Joyce and the management team at Ntsama are ensuring that what makes them so special doesn't change: the quality of locally sourced ingredients, no artificial colour or flavour, and still making each jar by hand. One thing is for sure - if Joyce continues to lead the company with the same respect for food tradition, attention to detail and fresh ingredients, Ntsama will carry on making waves in the cooking world.
