He’s elec-trick - personal trainer’s cheap hack to up your hydration game
Energy sluggish? Getting headaches? Struggling to focus?
As the heatwave begins to take hold, one nutritionist and personal trainer has a “cool” tip to keep you hydrated and it doesn’t require expensive branded drinks.
Coach Jay Laville, the inventor of PowerWave, explains;
‘During the heatwave, it is essential to stay hydrated. However, drinking water isn’t the only important thing to keep on top of, you’re also likely to be low on electrolytes.
‘When we sweat excessively, we don’t just lose water; we also lose essential nutrients that help our brain, nervous system and heart to function correctly and keep our fluid levels within our body balanced,’ explains Jay.
‘Electrolytes are crucial. If food is the fuel to our engine, then electrolytes are the oils that help it run more efficiently.’
The good news is, Jay says you don’t need fancy sports drinks to keep your levels up.
‘Here’s the good news, you really don’t need to opt for fancy sports drinks; just go to your local garage and grab a box of Dioralyte or similar, put a sachet in some water and drink it.
‘OK, it doesn’t taste that great, but within just a few minutes, you’ll be surprised how many of my clients feel so much better and it won’t hit your pocket quite as hard.’
Jay was speaking at the launch of PowerWave's new Multiplayer function which means users never have to train alone….unless they want to of course.
Users can workout in multiplayer mode by inviting up to five PowerWave users to a workout scheduled OnDemand. They can even gamify their workout by competing with each other for points or simply motivate each other with our interactive talk mode during every workout.
Jay concludes;
‘Whatever you do when working out, hydration is critical so stay on top of things and why not try our little trick - your body, your head and your wallet will thank you for it.
