If you’ve tried island-hopping before, why not try now village-hopping in Greece? This is another way of exploring the mainland from north to south, east to west, to discover the hidden villages, secluded beaches, local culture, gastronomy & vineyards, historical sites, festivals, rivers & lakes and of course, the indigenous fauna and flora. There are plenty camping sites around Greece where to park and explore and get a different feel for the country. With this kind of road-trip is brought to travellers by Rolling Turtles, a company set up by two university friends who wanted others to experience the country’s beauties by campervan. Rolling Turtles have four pick up points all near main airports in Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion & Chania on the island of Crete. Prices start from £89 per day.

Just think that Greece is about three hours away from the main European airports and is accessible throughout the year. One can explore the breath-taking mainland & countryside, be involved in local activities like olive harvesting, fungi and truffle hunting, or if feeling more energetic go hiking, white water rafting, canyoning etc. This is the beauty and freedom that a campervan by Rolling Turtles offers. There are number of all year-round camping grounds where you can park and explore.

If picking up the vehicle from Athens head south to the Peloponnese where some of the best camping sites are situated, or to the Ionian islands from the port of Patras, or the Cyclades from the port of Piraeus. If flying to Thessaloniki, drive to Halkidiki, Epirus, or further east or central Greece. When picking up a van in Crete, apart from exploring the island, travellers can take a ferry to discover the Dodecanese islands. A Rolling Turtles advisor will be able to assist with ideas and routes. Be adventurous and explore the Greece!

Rolling Turtles provide brand-new fully equipped campervans, RVs or 4x4 pick up vehicles converted with sleeping equipment, all especially designed for the travel company to their spec. They are situated at the local depots near the two main airports in Greece; in Athens and Thessaloniki. They are stationed just off the main road arteries that will lead one to an unforgettable adventure. The multi-lingual personnel will demonstrate where and how everything works. This takes up to an hour and then the journey can begin.

All campervans and off-road campers are brand new and come equipped with a fridge, crockery, glassware, pots and cutlery for a family of four, sink, small gas cooker, shower and a tent on the roof depending on the model. Linen & towels can be provided by the company. Depending on the season, additional extras include foldable bikes (adults & kids), SUP, hammocks, BBQs, electric scooters, portable toilets, snow chains, mobile Wi-Fi. Most campsite in Greece have electricity access which means that the campervan fridges can stay on.

All Covid-19 health protocols are met. All vans have sanitizer and antibacterial wipes available on board and the vehicle is given fully disinfected.

Rolling Turtles was established in Germany & Greece by two college friends (Ben from SpaceCamper & Costa from Glasscon) in order to introduce Greece’s remote sandy beaches, virgin dense forests and crystal clear rivers on 2000m high mountains and the amazing Mediterranean landscape to the global community.

Rolling Turtles also organizes multi-day guided adventure tours in Greece. Being well linked to the global campers and off-road community they will be happy to assist you in any related activities.
