Remember there’s still lots to do in the garden this autumn, says local tree surgeon

A local supplier of tree and gardening services is reminding homeowners that there is still plenty to do in the garden over the weeks and months of autumn, once summer is officially over for another year.

Family firm Walton’s Tree Services covers Suffolk, Essex and some areas of east London.

Owner Alexander Walton says: “If you thought nothing needed doing in the garden once summer has ended, you might want to think again!

“The nights may be drawing in but there’s still lots to be getting on with in the garden at this time of year. There’s also plenty you can do to prepare your garden for the cooler weather ahead, from dealing with weeds to composting and mulching, cutting back perennials and uprooting annual flowers.

“So it’s a busy time of year for gardeners and we’re happy to offer help and advice.”

Initially run single-handedly by Walton, the company now employs a team of four.

Walton adds: “We’re thrilled with how we’ve expanded. But we’re not complacent. We want to take on more commercial jobs, particularly site clearance and maintenance of green land around developed areas.”

The company serves commercial and domestic clients, offering transparent pricing with no hidden charges. Gardeners and tree surgeons work to British Standard BS3998, while tree surgeons are also NPTC-qualified. The equipment Walton’s uses is regularly reviewed, to ensure it’s the most up-to-date kit available.

All fees are inclusive of recycling and garden waste removal, to help protect the environment.

Services family-run Walton’s offers all year round include:

• Hedge maintenance

• Garden clearance

• Turf laying plus tree cutting

• Landscaping

• Tree felling

• Stump removal.
